33-year-old Michael Steele Empson Hurley is charged with 4-counts of assault, along with mismeanor traffic charges where he struck 3 adults and a child with his car on July 5, 2022. The 4 people were standing on the sidewalk in downtown Louisville, Kentucky.  Michael Steele Empson Hurley did confuse to the officers that he had taken Hydrocodone (which is a narcotic pain reliever) and "was so tired that he couldn't make the turn."

Michael Steele Empson Hurley is in custody & booked at Louisville Metro Corrections.

The 3 adults were taken to the University Hospital and the child to the Children's Hospital. Two adults are in critical condition, 1 stable is stable but serious condition, the youngest received minor injuries.
